alford-hannah

Dr. Hannah Alford

Hannah is originally from Middle Tennessee. Her husband, Hayden is originally from Dyersburg. They are excited to be moving to Jackson and anticipate becoming part of the Jackson community. The are most excited about being close to family after spending the past five years in Mobile, Alabama. Hannah looks forward to reconnecting with friends from Union, creating new relationships, and becoming an involved member of the Jackson community.

Hannah completed her undergraduate degree in biology at Union University. She attended medical school at East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine. She completed her residency in OB/GYN at the University of South Alabama.

The Alfords celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary this past May. They were blessed with a daughter in the spring of 2024. Hayden, a general surgeon, will be joining West Tennessee Medical Group, Jackson Surgical Associates. In their spare time, they enjoy traveling and being outdoors. Hannah enjoys a leisurely game of pickle ball, but when the weather cools off, you can find her in front of the fireplace with a good book or working on her knitting skills.

Hannah knew from a young age that she wanted to be a physician. She wrote a letter to herself in 2nd grade that her teacher mailed to her at the time of high school graduation inquiring if she still intended to become a physician. She began medical school interested in pediatrics but quickly became fascinated with women's health. During her medical school training, she was drawn to the wide variety of procedures in  the field of obstetrics and gynecology while also having the ability to build lifelong relationships with patients in the clinical setting.

Hannah strives to take care of patients the same way that she would want her own Ob/Gyn to take care of her. She remembers the nerves of the first visit to the gynecologist, the anxiety of her first pregnancy and labor experience. In addition to her training, Hannah plans to use her own experiences to better relate to patients and, ultimately, provide them with compassionate, evidence-based care.

"From an obstetrics perspective, I truly enjoy the entire process, but it is hard to put into words the euphoria of delivering a child and seeing the joy of the family present in the room. In regard to gynecology, I aim to employ minimally invasive surgical techniques, often utilizing the robotic platform, to offer patients quicker recoveries and shorter hospital stays."

Hannah is new to the Woman's Clinic and the partners and staff could not be more excited for Hannah to join the clinic family.
"I am looking forward to coming back to Jackson and joining the Woman's Clinic. Prior to interviewing with the group, I had heard nothing but great things about the Woman's Clinic from my friends in Jackson. Once I interviewed and met my new partners, I knew that it was the right fit for me;' Hannah said.
